User Experience

Switch

Client: Massey University

Team: Franziska Steinkohl, Nicki Gordon and Sarah Joubert (myself).

Massey University was seeking a way to position themselves as the 'natural' place to choose for study by personalising the overall university experience.

We proposed Switch; a workshop based program that runs in the Uni holidays a week before classes start. The workshops are held on the University campus by industry professionals and skilled tutors giving students the chance to branch out of their disciplines and learn new skills while also easing them back into the study routine. For example, a graphic design student could attend a VR workshop then giving them a new skill they could choose to use within their projects.

Switch will become a popular holiday option for students as they begin to experience the benefits of creating cross discipline connections and skills. The word will get around as students post photos on their social media sites and talk to their friends about it, which will promote the program and the University. As a result, Massey will gain positive attention for supporting their students and encouraging them to reach higher levels of achievement and general lifestyle through a sense of interaction and productivity in the holidays.

Switchs' brand identity is vibrant, curious, experiential and personal. The brand is present at all University activities to create strong connections between students, and switch encourages students to engage in the program by sharing their opinions and ideas for upcoming and past workshops.

"Let's switch on, let's make this semester the best one yet!"
